Seed-Grown: This plant was grown from seed in our Arch Rock Aloes nursery.

Rare: This plant is very hard to find anywhere else. We specialize in rare plants, and are the only growers of some species.

Native to the Sonoran Desert of Arizona and northwestern Mexico, Lophocereus schottii is a distinctive columnar cactus valued for its upright habit, rugged character, and exceptional drought tolerance. As these seed-grown plants mature, they develop strong vertical stems and an architectural presence that makes them equally at home in collector collections, containers, and water-wise landscapes.

Seed Grown: Each plant is grown from ethically sourced seed. Seed-grown plants contribute to the genetic diversity of the species, and every individual is genetically unique, with subtle variations in form, spine development, color, and growth habit.

Growth Habit: Slow-growing, branching columnar cactus.

Blooming Season: Mature plants may produce pale pink to white, night-blooming flowers followed by red fruit that is enjoyed by wildlife in its native habitat.

Care: Thrives in full sun with well-draining soil. Water thoroughly during the growing season, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings. Drought tolerant once established.

This iconic desert cactus is an excellent addition for collectors seeking genetically diverse, nursery-grown specimens with the potential to become impressive landscape or container plants over time. Wonderful color change with the sun.

Shipping: We ship twice a week from our nursery HQ in Ventura, CA. We carefully pack for safe arrival, but please unpack immediately upon delivery. Plants are shipped bare-root and pot-less for best arrival quality and the most economical shipping possible.
