Agave vilmoriniana, commonly known as the Octopus Agave, is one of the most graceful and distinctive agaves in cultivation. Unlike the rigid, heavily armed forms associated with many agaves, this species produces long, smooth, arching leaves that twist and cascade outward, creating the appearance of a giant octopus in motion.
Native to northwestern Mexico, Octopus Agave brings movement, texture, and sculptural beauty to gardens and containers. Its elegant form makes it a favorite among landscape designers and collectors alike, where it serves as a dramatic focal point in both contemporary and naturalistic plantings.
These plants are grown from seed in our Ventura, California nursery.
